- Can head office read our customers’ names and phone numbers?
- Not on the default setting. They see counts, stages, dates, and who owns the record, and the name, email, phone, and notes are stripped out before the data reaches them. A brand can choose fuller visibility, and your franchisor can show you which setting yours runs. Either way, your own view of your units is never filtered.
- Can our territory be changed without us?
- Territory permissions sit with head office, as they did before the software. What changes is that your assignment is now a live record you can open at any time, including whether it is exclusive, protected, or non-exclusive. A change is visible on your side, not only on theirs.
- Can we edit our own records?
- Your franchisee record, locations, territory, and assignments are read-only on your side, because keeping them accurate is head office’s job rather than yours. That is a responsibility off your members, not a door closed to them: nobody is chasing a franchisee to correct an address the brand also holds, and nobody is on the hook when the two versions disagree. What changes is that you can open the record at any time, so an error is something you spot and flag in a sentence instead of something that surfaces in an audit two years later. Where your own judgement is what matters, your members hold the pen: they write and publish their own location pages, and they work their own enquiries without waiting on anyone.
- What can an AI assistant do with our data?
- Exactly what the person who connected it can do, and nothing more. An assistant connected by a franchisee owner reaches one franchisee. One connected by a franchisor admin is held to the same limits on customer details as that admin. There is no service account with wider reach.
- Does another franchisee ever see our numbers?
- No. Each brand is walled off from every other brand, and within a brand your records are filtered out before they are ever fetched, rather than hidden in the interface afterwards.
- If the brand leaves FranOps, what happens to our data?
- It exports in standard formats, and the brand’s API stays available for anything more specific. Who runs that export and what they do with it is between the brand and its franchisees. Nothing in the product holds it back.
- What should we be asking our franchisor?
- The useful questions are the ones only they can answer: which visibility setting the brand runs, who holds admin, what enquiries are routed centrally versus locally, and what they intend to do with the reporting. Every one of those is answerable from a screen they already have.
